Project area B – Design principles

In project area B, the focus is on integrated design principles for future offshore megastructures and their components as well as the interaction of components of the megastructure and their environment. The integration of the design boundary conditions investigated in project area A is of particular methodological importance here, as is model reduction. Model reduction is crucial for holistic designs in the early design process where detailed structural mechanical models are not available. The aerodynamic interactions occurring within offshore wind farms will be considered in a simplified way in the load assumptions of the offshore megastructures during the first funding period.
