Workshop "windIO-Format"

In this two-part workshop on 14.12.2021, Dr Balzani first gave an introduction to the parameterisation of a wind turbine. Important components of a wind turbine were presented. It was discussed which parameters are necessary to completely describe a wind turbine in an aero-elastic simulation model and the complex interrelationships of these parameters in the interdisciplinary design process were explained. In the second part, Daniel Ribnitzky explained the documentation format "windIO". This onthology scheme was developed by the IEA Wind Task 37 (systems engineering) with the aim to generalise the way of documenting wind turbine models and to simplify the data transfer within research groups. The implementation of the parameters explained in the first part in this documentation scheme was taught and strengthened by means of practical programming exercises.
